Color Inspiration #29 and #30 from kwernerdesign.com

Hi girls,
This week it's just me making cards. So for the Color Inspiration #29 the colors were pacific point, taken with teal, elegant eggplant, pumpkin pie and whisper white. I was so excited when I saw the colors but to my surprise they were so hard to work with and I had a super hard time making a card. Anyway, here is what I made.


Here are the colors for the color inspiration #30: old olive, certainly celery, sahara sand and whisper white. I just loveeeeee this color combination and I'm happy with my card. Check it out.

Color Inspiration #28

For the past few weeks, Laura and I have been doing the Kristina Werner color challenge , it's really challenging plus we are doing it even harder. We each pick a stamp set that the other one has to use and we're only allowed to use scraps from my bins (except base of card). So here is what we came up with. Have a good week everybody :)

Recipe for Laura's card : pumpkin pie, ruby red, sage shadow and whisper white cardstock and ink, punches three stamp set, spotted jumbo wheel, trio flower punch, pumpkin pie 1/2" striped grosgrain ribbon, black brads.

New Tricks for Terrific Pages!

Get out of a rut, change up your style, or just try something new-whatever your reason, I've got four great ideas to help you add a little extra style to all of your projects!

GET EDGY... It isn't about straight lines anymore! Scalloped edges and die-cut papers are all the rage in scrapbooking and seem to be popping up everywhere you look. Add flair to all your projects by either using them as the base of a layout or using as accents on pages or cards. Our new scallop edge punch and the Big Shot are other great ways to dress up the edges of your paper, or even your photos! Use a piece of scalloped paper as a guide for journaling or stitching for a whimsical touch, too.

WRITERS BLOCK... Journaling is as important to scrapbooking as the photos themselves-after all, the story is what you'll want to remember years down the road. Put your journaling in the spotlight by using a journaling block. We have stamps made specifically for the purpose-some with lines to write on, and others with a block to write inside.

FANCY FLAIR... Flourishes are everywhere these days, from patterned papers and stamps to rub-on transfers, transparencies, and chipboard. They can add elegance to your layout, or make your page more funky and whimsical, depending on how you use them. Your journaling can even take the form of a flourish by sketching a line in pencil (or using a journaling guide) and following the line with your writing. Try adding rub-on flourishes around the edge of your photo, creating a neat frame, or add a chipboard flourish to add dimension to the entire page. Stampin' Up!'s Doodle this is a great example of a flourish set.

GET ON BOARD...Chipboard is one of the most versatile ways to dress up a layout and add dimension. During the first general session of Convention 2008: Celebrate '08, Shelli made an exciting announcement--she's starting her own personal blog! Beginning Monday, August 4, at 9:00 AM (MT), you can visit SoShelli.com to find all sorts of things, from gift ideas and project ideas to a personal look at Shelli's family activities and fun happenings, both at home and at the home office. "My main objective for this blog is simple," Shelli said in the announcement. "I want people to visit my blog and have a better day. I hope to accomplish that by sharing a personal side of me that will help people feel uplifted, positive, and optimistic." One element of SoShelli.com that will be sure to catch your attention is Shelli's creative challenge. She will announce each challenge on her blog and invite blog visitors to submit their project ideas; she'll announce the winners on her blog as well. Shelli's Signature Collection

During the first general session of convention, Shelli announced the launch of Shelli's Signature Collection, a line of products that span the entire Stampin' Up! product line, including stamp sets, home décor, and accessories. "These will be products that I either personally love or, in some cases, even played a part in developing," Shelli explained during the announcement. Demonstrators attending convention saw the first item in Shelli's Signature Collection--an apron for sale in Memento Mall--and in her remarks in the first session Shelli noted that she'd be showing additional Shelli's Signature Collection products during her traditional stamping presentation in the second general session. The first official look at the initial offering in Shelli's Signature Collection will be in the Holiday Mini, which demonstrators should receive sometime between August 16 and September 1."Now I want to make sure you know that just because a product isn't included in my signature collection, that doesn't mean I don't like it," Shelli pointed out. Only our new stamps will be die cut; sets carried over from the last catalog and those on the dormant list will still require trimming. But, each new set will feature a die cut icon so you and your customers will have no problems identifying die-cut sets."

I'm so excited!!!!! I used to set my new stamps aside so I could trim them later while I watched TV but now I don't have to do that. I will be able to use the new stamps as soon as I get them. Way to go Stampin' Up!

Button Bouquet Sneak Peak!

Look at what Stampin'Up! has in store for us; so many surprises coming in our New Fall-Winter Catalogue!!! Here is a sneak peaks! It is so exciting!

Check-out these cute buttons! As shown in the picture, the catalogue assortment includes buttons in the upcoming 'In Colors' which are Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, and Riding Hood Red. It contains 30 buttons in five styles (six buttons per style).
